M. Jane Turner Of Counsel
A veteran school law attorney in South Carolina, Jane Turner currently serves as Of Counsel to the firm. A former long-time partner in both predecessor firms to Duff & Childs, Jane has represented school districts across the state for a combined period of over twenty years. In her current role, Jane regularly provides advice and counsel to the firm’s attorneys on personnel matters, teacher evaluation and dismissal issues, policy development, superintendent/board relations, and legislative updates.
In addition to practicing school law in private practice, Jane has served as an assistant professor, director of academic services, and adjunct professor at Winthrop University; as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina; and as a Program Specialist, Program Director, and Deputy General Counsel with the South Carolina Department of Education.
In addition to her role as of counsel to the firm, Jane is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, & Advancement, a state-funded organization that works to recruit, retain and advance educators for the public school districts of South-Carolina through various state-wide programs and services.
